Our left hand thread taps are made from hi-carbon steel for strength and long life. They are a general purpose tap for left-hand threaded fasteners. The plug style refers to the chamfer or tip of the tap, plug is the most common chamfer being that is shorter than taper taps and usually used in blind or through holes.
