Hairpin cotter pins, also known as bridge pin, hitch pin clips, or r-clips, are made to go through a hole in a shaft and lock into place on the shaft, holding it in place. They are most commonly used in locking hitch pins in place. Stainless steel hair pin cotter pins are made from 18-8(304) stainless steel for excellent resistance to corrosion.
